How do ultrasonic cleaning tanks work? Ultrasonic cleaning power comes from transducers mounted on the side or bottom of the tank. When the transducers are powered, millions of tiny implosion bubbles are generated in the cleaning solution. When these bubbles come into contact with a solid surface, the bubbles implode and create “hot spots” on the internal and external hard surfaces of the part. This cleaning power, paired with Industrial Grade Cleaning Chemicals removes Rust, Debris, Oil, Grease, Oxidation and Contaminates from Parts and Tooling. This process is known as cavitation. This is how the ultrasonic cleaning action reaches all areas of the parts surface. Like any cleaning process, results will vary significantly depending on the Ultrasonic Cleaning Equipment and Ultrasonic Cleaning Chemicals.

The transducers are mounted on the outside bottom of the tank and when activated vibrate at ultrasonic frequencies such as 37,000 and 40,000 cycles per second (37 or 40 kHz).
This causes the tank bottom to vibrate like a membrane and create billions of microscopic vacuum bubbles.
The bubbles are so small that they penetrate the smallest cracks, crevices, blind holes and openings in carburetors and other engine components.
